
Kids Enjoying Fun in the Sun, Lake Wister State Park
Set against a scenic backdrop of dogwood, northern spruce and ponderosa pines, Wister State Park is a restful haven for lovers of the outdoors. The park offers some of the finest fishing and hunting in Oklahoma, with more than 33,000 park acres and a 2,000-acre waterfowl refuge. Amenities include 15 one-and-two-bedroom cabins, five camping areas, a group camp, family activity center, playgrounds, picnic tables with grills outside each cabin, rowboats, year-round miniature golf, three hiking trails (one is handicapped accessible), bicycle rentals, and a small grocery / gift shop.
Wister State Park is built around Lake Wister, which has more than 7,000 acres and 155 miles of shoreline. Boating and skiing are popular activities here, and a swimming beach and pool give visitors more choices for water recreation.
