Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center is a licensed 49 -bed health-care provider serving LeFlore and the surrounding counties with a total population of about 50,000. EOMC has been serving the needs of this community for more than 60 years by combining the personal touch of a community hospital with state-of-the-art technology. We provide a full range of medical services to the community.
Since 1950, EOMC has worked to provide quality healthcare throughout southeastern Oklahoma. EOMC is a public, non-profit entity overseen by a Board of Trustees appointed by the LeFlore County Commissioners. Our goal is to efficiently provide comprehensive personal health-care services by making available modern equipment, specialized medical services, and medical knowledge that would be limited without proper facilities.

Poteau also has another clinic, chiropractic care, home health and hospice care, along with LeFlore County Emergency Medical Services and 911. Other medical services include, but are not limited to, dental, optometry, and mental health. The Oaks Healthcare nursing home has 156 beds.
Poteau also has a free clinic operated by a local church that is open to the public on Tuesday evenings. Other medical services include, but are not limited to, chiropractic care, home health and hospice care, dental, optometry, mental health and weight loss. New to our area is the Health & Wellness Center. THWC has been providing quality healthcare services to local communities since 2005. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we offer Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, Pharmacy, and Optometry services to those with Private Insurance, Medicare, Oklahoma Medicaid/SoonerCare, as well as the Uninsured/Under-insured, with fees based on household size and income. There are currently five locations in Eastern Oklahoma.
